As Featured in The Daily Telegraph

The Bruce Arms has been proudly featured in The Daily Telegraph, celebrated for its timeless character, rich history, and authentic pub atmosphere. Locals will tell you—not much has changed here in over 170 years, and that’s exactly how we like it.

Described as "baggy chic rather than shabby," The Bruce Arms embraces its quirks with off-yellow walls, mismatched yet sturdy furniture, and the comforting aroma of well-lived-in charm. But it’s not about the décor—it’s about the well-kept beer, the hearty atmosphere, and the sense of community that fills the air, whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor.

With only three landlords since 1919, The Bruce Arms has been a beacon of continuity. From the legendary Rose Raisey, known for her no-nonsense hospitality, to our current landlord, Stefan, who brings warmth and a friendly welcome to all, this is a pub where stories are shared, and new memories are made.

"No glamour-seeking gastropub this," the article notes, and we couldn’t agree more. Instead, you’ll find foaming pints of Stonehenge Pigswill, real ciders like Merry Monkey and Fire Dancer, and even a decent picpoul de pinet for wine lovers. Add in a game of Ringing the Bull or the casual tunes from the parlour piano, and you’ve got the essence of what makes The Bruce Arms special.
